The WorldGenWeb Poject

Are you involved in genealogical research in Austria?

If you'd like to join the WordGenWeb project as a volunteer State/Provincial Coordinator (SC/PC), please see the Policy and Procedures page and then contact me, specifying which Austrian province you'd like to host.

More research, less HTML

Several years ago, coordinators in the WGW project were expected to have a good knowledge of website editing, HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript, FTP, etc.

Today, this is no longer a requirement.

Powerful, easy to use Content Management Systems allow you to set up beautiful websites without any effort.

If you have basic computer skills, you can do it.

This site was setup using Jimdo. If you want to give it a try, please sign up here for a free account.

If you need help/advice, just contact me.

What is needed.

The skills, that you do need in order to be a coordinator:

  • A good communicator
  • Willingness to help others
  • Basic genealogical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Austria, research possibilities in Austria and, if possible, some knowledge of the German language.

Please contact me if you want to try.
